From the security guard to the latest generation environmentalists, the world on the M5S stage in Rome – Corriere.it

From here we start again, as a Movement and as a Country: the Five Stars look with confidence to their demonstration against all the precariousness scheduled for tomorrow in Rome. An event where the faces of the starred will deliberately give way to ordinary people. On stage, apart from the president Giuseppe Conte and Moni Ovadia (who will talk about the war) the protagonists will be people directly touched by the theme of precariousness. A security guard, students protesting against high rents, a citizen’s income recipient, a researcher. And then, the world of associations that joined the event. Walter Massa, president of Arci, and Emiliano Manfredonia, head of ACLI, will speak. There will also be exponents of the latest generation of environmentalism, often at the center of controversy for their protests. It is a voice that must be listened to, say the starred.

In addition to Conte there will be the vice presidents, parliamentarians and some big historians, such as Roberto Fico. On the other hand, the participation of Beppe Grillo, who has been relaunching the M5S square from his blog for days, is very difficult. The goal is to bring from three to five thousand people to Largo Ricci, in the Fori Imperiali area. First, however, there will be a procession, which will start from Piazza della Repubblica. The aim is (also) to recreate a sense of community, first of all by involving that slice of the population which is also the one that probably does not go to vote. In short, an eye to abstentions to recover consensus. But the historical base has also been mobilized: from Lombardy to Puglia, from Campania to the Roman coast, buses with hundreds of activists are expected to arrive. Finally, as Grillo says, we are leaving the buildings again: we had lost the habit of being in contact with people, says a starry. But in the Movement there are also those who complain: We lack a basic vision, there is not an idea, but a conglomerate of small voters all squeezed to the left to give space to. For the Five Stars it is a test before the polls for the Regionals in Molise, a match on which the M5S has committed its most important chips in this electoral round.
