The passage of three Italian teams (Inter, Roma and Fiorentina) to the finals of the main European competitions (Champions League, Europa League, Conference League) causes flight prices to skyrocket to the cities where the last match will be played (Istanbul, Budapest, Prague), pushes some airlines to add special flights and fans to find alternative solutions. In some cases, at least up to now, some routes – thank goodness – are already all booked. Immediately after the final whistle, people turned to the sites to buy return tickets. The average increase in tariffs was 159% in a few hours, in some cases spending tripled between those who bought at 10pm and those who bought at midnight. With the paradoxical result that those who – on the other hand – have to fly in the opposite direction find themselves spending less now than those who bought days or weeks ago. what emerges from the analysis of the Courier on the affected sections: Milan (Linate, Malpensa, Bergamo)-Istanbul (both airports); Rome (Fiumicino, Ciampino)-Budapest, Florence-Prague (with stopover), but also Pisa-Prague and Rome-Prague. it should be pointed out that in the presence of what insiders call sudden deviations in demand (that is, many people book the same flights in a short time) planes fill up quickly and prices skyrocket. It had already happened for the flights over Milan before the Milan-Inter semifinal.
