Fitto: “We will coordinate the Pnrr with the resources of the Cohesion”

The Minister for European Affairs, speaking at the digital talk Ernst & Young Italy Outlook 2023, sheds some light on the delays in the funding package

“On the alleged delays of the Pnrr, I want to emphasize that doing quickly does not mean hurrying”. Thus Minister Raffaele Fitto, Minister for European Affairs, Cohesion Policies and Pnrr, spoke at the digital talk Ernst & Young Italy Outlook 2023, interviewed by the director of the Foglio Claudio Cerasa. “The problem is the quality of the expenditure: I am referring to the use that Italy has traditionally made of European resources. We are among the main Cohesion countries, so we have obtained it every six years, not in debt but in grants, very significant resources which, however, did not have a positive impact on the economic data. The point is how we spend: if we diversify investments into tens of thousands of small interventions, we will probably go in the opposite direction to what our country needs”.
