In the government there is a case involving General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo. The Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Defense did not take at all well his appointment as commissioner for the reconstruction of flooded areas. In essence, Figliuolo has accepted the government appointment, which became operational last week, only on condition that he can maintain the double role. Which is why at the Farnesina (but not only) their eyes widened. Because the great unknown is how the general will manage in the coming weeks (and for at least a year, when his mandate as commissioner expires) to be focused on what is happening in some of the most complex theaters in the world from a geopolitical point of view such as the Lebanon and Iraq. And at the same time to give timely responses to the requests of the mayors of Romagna. Questions that have suddenly begun to arise even among the leaders of the armed forces.
