The United States likes luxury made in Italy a lot. And an example of this is Bertazzoni, a company from Guastalla, founded in 1882, specialized in the production of freestanding cookers, built-in ovens, hobs, extractor hoods, refrigerators and dishwashers, known for five generations all over the world for a carefully studied design, engineering extraordinary and a deep passion for food and innovation, which since January has landed with its branch in North America in Dallas where it will manage a turnover of 70 million dollars on that market covering the United States and Canada. An initiative that is part of the strategies of the company, which has just entered the register of historic companies, present with 7 branches worldwide (in addition to the headquarters in Guastalla) and 250 employees, to support sales, logistics, financed services and above all to sales in the USA and Canada after 18 years of presence on the American market. A staff consisting of six Italians and US personnel is already present in the area. Thanks to the numerous investments we are making for internationalization, our turnover reached 130 million in 2021, growing by 50%, also because we had invested in a series of products since 2019, while in 2022 there was a decline in the last part of the year due to the increase in interest rates and the logistics crisis, and the turnover stood at 121 million. Today we are in a phase of strong swings. 90% of sales take place abroad, but Italy still gives considerable satisfaction because it grows by 20% per year, says CEO Paolo Bertazzoni.

Five million investment in research

And what are the predictions for the future? We aim to maintain stable turnover for the end of the year. There are still factors of economic crisis, but we invest 4/5 million a year in research and development, in improving the factory, systems and marketing and product organization, now we want to increase productivity. In 2024 we will focus above all on new products: induction products, hobs for a technologically advanced kitchen in which a hood is integrated, a product that includes a lot of innovation, a premium and luxury domestic product. In fact, we are addressing a customer with good income because the kitchen environment has become larger, more joyful and social and has more and more design content to integrate into the furnishings. Our products are doing well both in Italy and throughout Europe, especially in the United Kingdom, where we are growing strongly even in times of uncertainty and change. What works is the value aspect of our brand, the engineering skills combined with the Italian and Emilian culinary culture. Furthermore, in line with the trends of the furnishing world, in addition to the colours, we have added copper and zinc finishes to give a unique image to our kitchens continues Bertazzoni which represents the fifth generation of the Emilian company. Starting from one of our corporate claims ‘to cook beatifully’, which is based on 3 founding values: family, engineering and culinary culture, we are also working with Modulnova for the harmonic integration of the fridge and dishwasher in the kitchen furnishings. We have concluded our three-year plan. And in the next three years we aim to reach 150 million euros in turnover and 8 branches worldwide, concludes the number one.
