Decline in electricity consumption? Eye

Almost five per cent drop in Italian electricity consumption in the first six months of this year. It is good news? Probably a part of this drop – documented by Terna, which also recorded a total demand for electricity in Italy during the month of June which showed a further decrease, equal to 9.2 percent if compared with the same period of 2022 – is due to various efficiency and savings measures adopted by businesses and households after last year’s price shock with the extreme peaks reached in the central months of 2022. If these actions persist and become structural, this is good news because it improves Italian energy efficiency .
