The President of the Region: «Enough waits for Cardarelli. Dear citizens, report any dysfunctions to me “

from Angelo Agrippa

«We had a report relating to Cardarelli for the very long lines related to reservations, to pay the ticket and so on. I spoke to the general manager, he undertook to solve the problem in about ten days. It is not tolerable that a person over seventy has to wait two hours to pay a ticket or to make a reservation. Please report any malfunctions, such as the one I am talking about, to my secretariat. Help us to identify the critical issues so that we can intervene quickly ». Vincenzo De Luca it becomes a listening desk to collect complaints and reports from citizens-users at the mercy of the organizational dysfunctions of the Campania healthcare system, which without personnel cannot aspire to become the first in Italy, as De Luca had promised. Even less so if Campania – as shown by the Report on the health status of the Ministry of Health – continues to record the worsening of almost all indicators: from those that refer to mortality from oncological pathologies to those linked to cardio-vascular diseases, assigning to Campania itself the saddest and most dramatic of primates.

Black shirt

“We are waiting for the new government – the president of the regional council re-launched during his web forum on Friday -. Once Mr Meloni has been given the job, let’s see what solution will be given to the Ministry of Health who must immediately commit to the Department of the National Health Fund and start the procedures for hiring new doctors. For the community houses that the Regions will have to open – he explained – we know that there is a shortage of 80,000 personnel, of which 10-12,000 doctors and the rest of nursing and socio-medical professional profiles. We must work to tackle this problem, we will see the orientation of the new government from which we hope for a balanced and respectful division of the needs of Campania, still today the region that receives the least transfers of resources of all. It is a scandal that has been dragging on for a decade ». But precisely the publication of the Report on the health status, with the data they assign Campania received the black jersey for performance, health care and above all for the very high rate of avoidable mortalityprovoked a flurry of political reactions.

The reactions

«The Ministry of Health certifies yet another failure of De Luca – declares the deputy of the Brothers of Italy Imma Vietri -. Despite the end of the commissioner, the center-left regional council has not yet managed to retrain the level of services and assistance and to secure citizens (who continue to get sick, among the first in Italy, and to die of cancer and cardiovascular diseases) and to ensure a longer life expectancy. In particular – underlines Vietri – if the mortality from cancer per 10 thousand inhabitants sees the Campania men in second place, the diseases of the circulatory system indicate the male and female citizens of Campania in the first place. Even those of the respiratory system record that Campania men are the most affected in Italy and women in fourth place. Not only. Campania has less than 100 beds per 100,000 inhabitants. Impressive data that must make us reflect on the lies and above all on the mismanagement on the part of De Luca, who in recent years has been more committed to making appointments in the ASL rather than improving the assistance services to citizens ». Also Aurelio Tommasetti, national leader of the League, attacks: «The responsibilities of the governor and his team are evident and the situation continues to worsen, with no prospect of improvement. It is necessary to abandon the logic of patronage and favor transparency and efficiency. Otherwise, in the next few years we will see an unprecedented social and health emergency ».
