The prime minister quarrels with Hungary and Poland, approves the most important flow decree ever and asks for help from the NGO that brought Salvini to trial. With the phony theme of the judicial siege, the government is trying to distract public opinion from the revolution underway on immigration: from vulgar propaganda to realism

There was a time when the right, when it had to go on the attack, when it wanted to win consensus, when it wanted to embarrass its opponents, knew perfectly what to do and knew perfectly where to bet its chips: on immigration, it’s obvious. The formula was the one you may remember. Are there too many migrants arriving? The fault lies with the government. The landings do not stop? Europe is to blame. Do they want more solidarity in Brussels? We do the naval blockade. Are the borders open? We close the ports. Does Europe want to welcome migrants? We ally ourselves with Orbán. There was a time when the nationalist right, to flex its muscles, was enough to talk about immigration. That time, as you may have noticed, however, is over. Not so much or not only in the iron will to defend the honorable Delmastro and Santanchè to the bitter end. As for the iron will to find a comfort zone useful for distracting public opinion from a sensational and unspeakable choice of side made on a delicate terrain: immigration, in fact. A rounded, important, but unclaimable revolution, at the center of which there are four pieces of news that you will hardly see valued by the news sensitive to the call of the sovereign right.
