Athletes, referees and instructors, with the new "sport contract" less taxes and more protection: what changes

The "contract on sport" concerns 500,000 workers

Good news for the world of sport. There will be numerous changes that will affect, according to government estimates, 500,000 workers belonging to the sector, starting from 1 July 2023 with the entry into force of Legislative Decree 36 of 2021 and the new corrective approved at the end of May by the Meloni government which now it will be examined by Parliament (a text on which the approval of the Regions will also be needed and then it will return to the CDM).
The Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi and the Minister for Labor and Social Policies, Marina Calderone have made these changes to simplify, protect and make the legislation governing the world of sport more transparent. The two provisions on "sports work" radically change the legislation by expanding insurance and contractual protections and introducing new rights: one of the main provisions of the new "sports contract" is the increase from 18 to 24 hours to maintain the co. co.co., the possibility of starting an apprenticeship at the age of 14 for young athletes. And then as far as Irap is concerned for the world of amateurism, annual payments of up to 85,000 euros will not be taxable. News also regarding medical checks, Inail protection and simplification of bureaucratic obligations. But let's see in detail what will change.
