They don’t stay on stage, they don’t go on TV, they don’t collide, they almost don’t even meet. They walk like shadows – vigilant shadows who maneuver the machinery of the pd primaries: men and women who for months have been carrying out the work of reconnaissance, organization, persuasion and connection (on the territory and at a national level) behind and alongside Elly Schlein and Stefano Bonaccini, the candidates for the pd secretariat that tomorrow they will compete in the gazebo vote. Some are experts, others less so. All possess the fundamental characteristics of patience and resilience of those who, says a deputy from the Democratic Party, “managed the barrack between clubs, parties, parliaments and candidates when all around was staged the attack on the Democratic Party”. The fact is that, after the electoral shock and after the constituent phase and during the debate on the form and substance of the party that some had given up for dead and others would like to see dissolve and reform as a matter of the enlarged left, there are those who have looked straight at the goal: to have him or her elected secretary.
