The public deficit worsens: in the first three months it reached 12.1 percent of gross product, an increase compared to 11.3 percent a year earlier when the pandemic was emerging. The Central Institute of Statistics has calculated that a drop in revenues (-0.8 per cent with respect to gross product) is to blame, which is reflected in a reduction in the tax burden. The government has set itself a target of falling to 4.5 percent, a huge leap indeed. Is a red light starting to come on?
