The powers for secret services, cybersecurity and the fight against drugs have been entrusted to the Undersecretary of the Prime Minister Alfredo Mantovano. This is established by the Presidential Decrees published in the Official Gazette.
In recent weeks, the council of ministers of had changed law number 124 of 2007 which regulates intelligence services, to allow Mantovano, undersecretary to the presidency, to fill the role of delegated authority with expertise in services and cybersecurity. In fact, the law provided that the delegated Authority “could not exercise further government functions”, until Meloni’s decision to proceed with an ad personam rule.
