After the rift with Matteo Renzi, Carlo Calenda welcomes “the Good Right” into Action and in the meantime also extends a hand to +Europe, on which he affirms: “I have no preconceptions, we have to think about it together. I have no ambition to scrap anyone, in Italy we would need a cohesion of the liberal, popular and reformist forces”, he said in an interview with Radio Radicale. Today, however, on the day of the election results, the former minister participates in the event with which the movement founded by the former Finiano Filippo Rossi officially entered into action. A political act animated by that “republican spirit” which in Italy, according to both Azione and Buona Destra, “has always been lacking, abdicating the sectarian spirit and the confrontation”.

“The right that governs us – said Rossi – wants us to believe that it represents the only possible right, something that does not happen anywhere in the world. We must insist on continuing to do politics and to be an alternative, representing a civil right , fair and moderate who does not think that every alliance is a mess. Our space – concluded Rossi – is the liberal democratic one which cannot be left to the Tajani on duty who defines himself as a center and then sends Draghi home, opening the doors of the power to this right here”.

Calenda reiterated that “the doors are open to those who recognize the republican spirit, to those who do not fill their mouths calling their opponent a fascist every day but at the same time recognize that the Constitution is born of republican patriotism”. “On the left as on the right – she concluded – there is a total lack of self-awareness, which is the real problem of this country”.
