New jobs in agriculture

Tractor drivers, greenhouse growers, pruners, technicians and IT professionals for agriculture 4.0. Spring could bring with it 100,000 jobs to the countryside, all aimed at young farmers able to fill the labor shortage that hit the sector last season, causing many crop losses. what Coldiretti declares in his analysis presented at the Work for young people, in agriculture c’ initiative, which was also attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida, and the Minister for Sport and young people, Andrea Abodi, on the occasion of the opening of the Made in Italy creativity show Generazione in campo. They are also expected new employment opportunities offered by multifunctionality ranging from the corporate transformation of products to direct sales – recalls Coldiretti -, from educational farms to agri-kindergartens, but also to recreational activities, social agriculture for the inclusion of the disabled, prisoners and drug addicts, the arrangement of parks, gardens, streets , agro-wellness and landscape care or the production of renewable energies.
For this reason, the farmers’ association deems a training plan in collaboration with schools and investments in the digital revolution necessary, which in the countryside – with drones, gps, robots, software and the internet of things – have reached .6 billion with growth of 1,500% within 5 years.
