Who is Cottarelli, Mister spending review
Originally from Cremona, 69 years old, an economist, from 2013 to 2014 Cottarelli was Extraordinary Commissioner for the review of public spending, appointed by the Letta government. Why the economist leaves the Dems

The role of merit
A key issue, explained the economist, is the role that «merit should have in society. The principle of merit was very present in the 2008 Democratic Party values document, the last one available when I decided to run. Instead, it is missing in the one approved in January 2023 and in the Schlein motion for the primaries ».
