Jannik Sinner against Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinal of the Miami Open ATP: whoever passes flies to the final and will challenge the winner between Daniil Medvedev and Karen Khachanov. The match is played tonight when in Italy it will already be April 1st (in fact scheduled not before one, Italian time). Sinner-Alcaraz it will be broadcast on Sky Sport Uno, Sky Sport Tennis and in streaming on Sky Go and Now TV.

After eliminating the Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (6-1, 6-3, on March 29), and returning after two years in the semifinals in Miami (where he finished against the Pole Hubert Hurkacz, 7-6 and 6-4, on the 4 April 2021), now he has the toughest opponent of all in front of him, Carlos Alcaraz. The number 1 in the world certainly doesn’t want to stop after his success at the Indian Wells versus Medvedev (6-3, 6-2 on March 20). Tournament in which the Spaniard, again in the semifinals, eliminated Sinner himself (7-6, 6-3, 18 March). Sinner, for his part, won 20 out of 24 matches in this great start to the season: a path that allowed him to return to the top ten of the ATP ranking.

Apart from the outcome of tonight’s semi-final, Jannik will be in the top 10 from Monday 3 April (instead, by winning the tournament he would rise to number 6 in the ranking). The one between Sinner and Alcaraz a rivalry that is growing challenge after challenge: it is already the sixth official match between the two. The precedents are in favor of the Spaniard who leads 3-2. The last, as mentioned recently: in the semifinal of the Indian Wells Master 1000. The others were played in Bercy 2021 (success of the Spaniard); in the round of 16 of Wimbledon and in the final of Umag 2022, won by Sinner; in the quarterfinals of the Us Open (September 8, 2022), won by Alcaraz after canceling a match point from Jannik.
