Pistorius, the parents of the former partner killed against the request for probation

The parents of Reeva Steenkampthe former partner of Oscar Pistorius killed by a gunshot fired by the former Paralympic champion 10 years ago, will oppose the request for parole. Their attorney stated that, Tanya Koen, in view of the scheduled hearing to decide on the probation requested by Pistorius himself. Steenkamp’s parents “do not believe he should be released,” Koen told reporters outside Pretoria’s Atteridgeville Correctional Center, where Pistorius has been held since 2016 and where his parole hearing is scheduled.
