“We need a change of pace.” The League bets Eni and Enel and opens the game of nominations

The game of nominations is now open: between now and the end of 2023, there are 67 public investee companies that will see their top management change, with over one hundred names that will have to be confirmed or replaced. Yesterday afternoon it was the League that broke the delay. “Italy must show itself up to the most delicate challenges, starting with energy policy on which the government is particularly attentive”reads the note released by qualified sources of the Carroccio: “It should be emphasized that even large state-owned companies such as Eni and Enel must profoundly change their policies and their approach to modernity. A change of pace is needed”.

A clear signal for government allies. The League does not want to stand by and watch. The timing with which the Northern League leaders intervened is also curious, and that is precisely while the premier Giorgia Meloni is in Kyiv. But what was particularly striking was the direct reference to ENI, whose managing director, Claudio Descalzi, is on good terms with Salvini, but also with the Prime Minister herself, with whom she played a central role in the search for new sources of energy supply in recent months. It is difficult to think today that Meloni wants to deprive himself of it, considering the results achieved positive. A reasoning that may not apply only to Eni.

The meaning of the Northern League message could then be another, aiming for minor appointments or making a break where possible. In via Bellerio they believe that the result of the polls, that of the policies and that of the recent regional ones, is also the result of a strong request for change coming from the voters compared to the previous government.
