Volunteering, an evening to raise awareness of the importance of donating blood and bone marrow

ROME – A year ago, on her birthday, Francesca Ghini received a bone marrow transplant that brought her out of the nightmare of leukemia. That day she celebrated her birthday and her recovery. Today, twelve months later, for her birthday, Francesca organized an event in Rome, in the EUR area, to raise awareness of the importance of donating blood and bone marrow.

The event. During the evening, which includes a buffet with music and entertainment, the book that recounts the life experience of Francesca Ghini, written by the artistic director of the White Circus during the months of hospitalization of the woman. There will be a brief moment of awareness and knowledge on blood cancer, leukemia and transplants and on the importance of donating bone marrow and blood to save lives. The evening will be attended by the doctors and managers of the hematological department of the Tor Vergata and Sant’Eugenio hospitals; L’Bone Marrow Donor Association (ADMO), the Everyone’s Network, i.e. the Association for those who donate blood. The music is edited by Val Stefano DJ, La Roda di Samba and at the end a show by White Circus.

Where and when. Thursday 11 May, 7 pm, Exe, viale della Civiltà Romana, EUR Obelisk. Entrance 5 euros. The proceeds of the entrance fees and donations are donated to charity to the Associations present: La Everyone’s Network And Admus. From the afternoon onwards, a Mobile Hospital Unit is present in the square of the EUR Obelisk for blood sampling.
