“Via Berlusconi”, the street dedicated to the former prime minister. But Sala holds back

Impossible to dedicate a street to him because ten years must have passed since his death. The next day i Silvio Berlusconi’s funeral in the Duomo, Milan, his city, think about how to remember him. The debate and the most diverse proposals come from Forza Italia, but also from other centre-right parties. Milan therefore, at least until 2033, will not have via Silvio Berlusconi. A few center-right city councilors had wanted it and asked for it in the City Council in recent days. Even the former deputy mayor of Fratelli d’Italia Riccardo De Corato had thought of naming him via Volturno, the street on the island where the former prime minister was born. While the parent company of Forza Italia Alessandro De Chirico has filed a formal request for a monument at the Monumental cemetery, or a plaque at the Famedio to be exhibited together with those of other Milanese who have made history.

Meanwhile, from the Pirellone, the governor Attilio Fontana promises: “We will dedicate an important place inside our Palace to Berlusconi, I have to talk about it in addition, but I have a very clear idea. He will certainly be remembered in the most appropriate way”. It is not only Milan that wants to remember the president of Forza Italia with a symbol, the political world has also been activated in Monza: a motion has been presented in the city council to name Berlusconi at the Brianteo stadium, where his team plays.
