This interlocution, according to Nordio, exhausts the power of initiative of the Minister of Justice “in full compliance with the dictates of article 716 of the code of penal procedure”. According to the president of the Milanese Court of Appeal, on the other hand, the minister has the right to ask to put Uss back in prison even after the house arrest has been granted.

On this point, Della Vedova continues: “Nordio did not explain how it could have happened that we let a defendant of serious crimes escape right on the hot front of sanctions and Putin’s war against Ukraine.
