Ukraine, Crosetto hears secretary Austin: “From Italy the commitment to support Kiev continues”

Defense Minister, Guido Crosettohad a telephone conversation with the US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin. At the center of the phone call, the war in Ukraine and the collaboration between Italy and the USA in the defense sector.
The US secretary thanked his Italian counterpart “for the firm and decisive will of the Italian government to support Ukraine and the Ukrainian people”, reads the statement released by the Defense Ministry. “We will continue to support Ukraine so that it can defend itself from Russia’s attacks, aware that only a just peace, which always remains the main objective, can put an end to an invasion war,” Crosetto underlined.
The talk between Corosetto and Austin anticipates next week’s meeting in Ramstein, Germany, on the occasion of the meeting of the Defense Contact Group of Ukraine.
