A gesture that is worth more than a Grand Prix won. After the cancellation of the Imola race, Yuki Tsunoda, 23-year-old Japanese pilot of theAlpha Taurinot only did he not abandon the place heavily hit by the flood, but he took to the streets in Faenza (home of his stable) helping people clean the streets, covered in water and mud.

The photos and videos showing Tsunoda personally involved in helping to get everything back to normal have gone around the web, but on Twitter the Japanese rider limited himself to launching an appeal and sharing the fundraising of the municipality of Faenza : ”After a horrible night, the city is badly affected: dust, mud and the smell of petrol everywhere. It is currently difficult for people to find food and places to stay after many have been evacuated from their homes. Please, anything you can do to help is appreciated.”

Tsunoda, who joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2018, made his F1 debut in the Bahrain GP with Alpha Tauri in 2021, and in that year he opted to move to the town in the province of Ravenna to be closer to the headquarters of the stable. A special bond was immediately created in Faenza, witnessed with the beautiful gesture in a dramatic moment for the whole Region.
