Actors’ job is to entertain people when it’s a party. “It’s a show for the holidays: its journey is born and ends there”, say the two. An always unique atmosphere that without the end and the beginning of a new year

At the registry office they are called Alessandro Besentini and Francesco Villa. One from Rho and one from Milan. But when they’ve been on stage for about thirty years, they’ve been as famous as Ale and Franz and go beyond the confines of their Milan. In all these years of continuous shows, bread and stage, maybe there were only two times they didn’t work at New Year’s Eve. “We are at the twenty-eighth”, says Ale, a few hours before the premiere of NatAle&Franz Show, the show scheduled at the Giorgio Gaber opera house until January 3, 2023. “It is normal to work on New Year’s Eve – he continues – and we invite everyone to come to celebrate in cheerfulness and lightheartedness. Laughing, these days, is needed”.

New Year’s Eve at the theater, and light theater, cabaret and music, on the other hand, is one of the most typical Milanese customs. If before Christmas the unmissable Milanese appointment which confirms itself as a classic of Milanese cultural programming is the great concert in the Cathedral offered to the city by the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo (this year Bach and Corelli), on the 31st it is the light theater master; and this year they are sitting on the soft red armchairs of the reborn Lirico, which is like saying a piece of comedy from Milan: “It’s also a great convenience for us not having to think about what to do on New Year’s Eve, it’s always a pain having to say let’s go from here, let’s go from there, let’s do this and that while you work and that’s it and you’re all set – Ale presses – And at the theater it’s a beautiful evening, a party within a party where people enjoy themselves”.

And the job of actors, after all, is to entertain people when it’s a party. “For me it is one of the most exciting shows of the year because there is this desire to celebrate that unites us and the audience”. NatAle&Franz Show is a checkered show, “once they would have called them skits and every now and then we make fun of each other saying we do skits”. It is “a light-hearted show and wants to be one, along the line of the Milanese cabaret, with guests such as Paolo Rossi and then Enzo Iacchetti. With the spirit that if we feel like laughing we laugh, that if one feels like improvising a joke he does it by putting others in difficulty, and this spirit arrives. It is really a show for the Christmas holidays and its journey was born and ended there. A unique and special show born only for these holidays and only for Milan. We will try to have as much fun as possible every night. Written by us like all our other shows”.

Lightness and comedy the leitmotiv, waiting for the midnight toast. “My feeling – says Franz – is that on New Year’s Eve the show is special. It is for us who are on stage, for us with the audience and for the audience itself. What happens on New Year’s Eve is always different than usual, there’s a different atmosphere. And we too are different, we will make a toast with the people in the room, we will leave our exceptional band on stage, as we always do, all great musicians: Luigi Schiavone, Fabrizio Palermo, Marco Orsi, Francesco Luppi and the wonderful voice of Raffaella Spina . We will have Enzino, so with Enzo we will invent and improvise. The show is always unique, it marks the end and the beginning of a new year, the theater is perfect for ferrying us together into 2023”.

The new year will be celebrated at the Nazionale with Sister Act, an enthralling and captivating musical. On the evening of the 31st Vincenzo Salemme will be at the Manzoni with his new show entitled Napoletano? And make me a pizza!. And it will be New Year’s Eve with Edoardo Bennato at the Arcimboldi. Solidarity with the “Milan with coer in man – Ticket suspended” initiative is also on stage at the Lirico and at the Nazionale. “After two very hard years – explains Matteo Forte, managing director of Stage Entertainmet, inventor of heArt, the social platform dedicated to the world of art and entertainment and director of the two theaters – we have thought of all possible ways to donate a little ‘ of lightheartedness. Among the many initiatives, there is also this sort of suspended ticket”. Two urns have been placed in the foyer of the theaters in which anyone who wishes can leave a donation which will be donated to the non-profit organizations Azione Solidale of Milan and Cometa of Como. Already available 100 entrances.
