Intesa Sanpaolo is making 10 billion in new credit available to tourism companies, of which 3 billion is intended for companies in the South: these are the new measures dedicated to the development of the tourism industry, considered vital for the Italian and southern economy. The resources will be used to support the growth of companies in the sector and to seize the opportunities envisaged by the PNRR and other ministerial initiatives. It is discussed today in Naples in a conference entitled: «Tourism in the South: trends, impacts and dynamics».

From the pandemic to the Pnr

The new ceiling adds to the over 7 billion in liquidity already disbursed to companies in the sector since the pandemic to date. All of this is part of the Group’s broader plan which envisages medium-long term disbursements for 2026 for over 410 billion, of which 120 billion intended for SMEs, with which to actively contribute to the country’s economic recovery in close correlation with the objectives of the PNRR .

Today the presentation of the plan

The measures put in place by the Group will be illustrated at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio in Naples during a conference in which, in addition to the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè and representatives of the business world, Stefano Barrese, head of the Banca dei Territori division of Intesa Sanpaolo will intervene. After the opening of the works by Giuseppe Nargi, regional director of Campania, Calabria and Sicily of Intesa Sanpaolo, the contribution of Massimo Deandreis, general manager of Srm, is expected, who will illustrate the growth prospects of the tourism sector. A round table will also be attended by, among others, Guido Fiorentino, president and CEO of the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria, Marcello Mangia, president and CEO of Mangia’s Resorts and Clubs, Giuseppe Pagliara, CEO of Nicolaus Tour, Dina Ravera, president of Destination Italy, and Nico Torrisi, managing director of Catania International Airport.

Srm: in 2023 tourism in strong recovery

Today tourism marks an important recovery. 2023 will be, for Italy, the tourist year of culture, nature and the attractiveness of Made in Italy. An analysis carried out by SRM – Centro Studi linked to Intesa Sanpaolo estimates for our country a continuation in 2023 of the acceleration of tourist presences which would lead to reaching 436.8 million nights in the base scenario, i.e. the full recovery of data for 2019. In summary, Srm expects in 2023, for Italy, the full recovery of tourist flows and a new start especially for the South.
