Totò Cuffaro unanimously elected national secretary of the DC: “Like Martin Luther King, We have a dream”

Totò Cuffaro, regional DC commissioner in Sicily, was unanimously elected national political secretary of the Christian Democrats. The election took place today, at the end of the XX National Congress of the DC which kicked off yesterday at the Sheraton de Medici congress center in Rome. A press release announces it.

Over 400 delegates from different regions of Italy took part in the two days. President of the party was elected Renato Grassi and deputy secretary of the party, Giampiero Samorì. «Taking up what Martin Luther King said 60 years ago, We Have a Dream. – said Cuffaro – We have a dream, beautiful and difficult but not utopian. We want a country where we, our children, our grandchildren can live in a democratic and popular political system.
