They complain of a fury, a hostility “towards a government that some people don’t like, in Brussels”. They say, and they say it convinced that they are claiming a reason, that “before, when there was Draghi, it wasn’t like that”. And maybe they don’t know what sweat was dripping from, what diplomatic effort, that supposed harmony between the European Commission and Palazzo Chigi in the banker’s time. Or maybe they know it, but they prefer to feed a different narrative: which takes the form of the usual sovereign victimhood, of the so recurring encirclement syndrome, in the patriotic stimuli. Be that as it may, Giorgia Meloni and her collaborators are already preparing to have to manage a sort of surrender on the Pnrr: they arm the anti-aircraft.
