The victory of Elly Schlein against Stefano Bonaccini constitutes a certain turning point for the Democratic Party. Among many, the main reason is essentially one: it had never happened that the open primaries overturned the verdict of the circles and, consequently, it had never happened that a new member managed to defeat a candidate of the old guard.
