Marina and Pier Silvio Berlusconi gave themselves an 80 million euro gift. Piersilvio withdrew 51 million from his safe and Marina 29 million from the company she controls. Have they raised cash for personal needs or have they prepared cash to meet any extraordinary disbursements within the family group? But why simultaneously? For now there are no traces of use.
The family holdings
The operation, due to its relevance, has no recent comparison in the perimeter of the Berlusconi heirs but certainly the assets of the family holdings have ample room to support extraordinary dividends such as those attributed to the two eldest sons of the owner of Fininvest and leader of Forza Italia. The financial maneuver emerges between the lines of the recently filed financial statements as at 30 September 2022 of Holding Italiana Quarta (Marina) and Holding Italiana Quinta (Pier Silvio), each holding 7.65% of Fininvest.
The extra reserves
With the dividends distributed over the years by the “industrial” leader, which owns control or significant stakes in Mediaset-Mfe, Mondadori, Mediolanum, Monza, etc., the family holding companies have strengthened their reserves. And indeed in Pier Silvio’s personal company the 51 million were withdrawn from the extraordinary reserve of 175 million while Marina drew the 29 million from the 71 available. Meanwhile Piersilvio, after collecting the extra 51 million on his account, has sent the 2022 profit of 12.6 million to reserve and Marina himself with the 11.6 million net result of his financial company.
Silvio’s 90 million
The Italian holdings owned by Silvio Berlusconi (61.3% overall of Fininvest) have also filed their financial statements as at 30 September 2022 with positive results as expected after the 150 million coupon distributed by the Biscione out of the 360 million profit for 2021 H1, for example, made a profit of 29 million (20 in 2021) and distributed 16 million to the leader of Forza Italia in 2022, H2 11.7 million the result and as many sent to the Cavaliere as H8 with its 32 million in profit. So in the end, the patron of the group collected around 90 million. And what are the other three children doing, Barbara, Eleonora and Luigi gathered in H14 (21.4% of Fininvest)?
