The reform of public procurement is a step forward but a knot remains to be resolved

The satisfaction of the government after the approval of the decree is justified. But too many contracting stations remain, which too often have shown that they do not have the administrative capacity to manage the construction of the works. Here we need to intervene again

The Council of Ministers has preliminarily approved the legislative decree reforming the Public Procurement Code, prepared by the State Council with the collaboration of various experts. Since this reform is fundamental for the civil and economic development of Italy, the government’s satisfaction is justified. But we must not forget that this is an intermediate objective, because the contracts of the administrations are tools: they serve to carry out public works, such as the transport infrastructures necessary to unite the various parts of Italy and to connect them with Europe, and to acquire goods and services in the public interest.
