Promote financial culture and open a dialogue with people, businesses and institutions. This the purpose of Traveling with the Bank of Italy, a journey through the country sponsored by the central bank. The initiative and the program

The project, deployed throughout the national territory, is aimed at local communities: in fact, at each stage, citizens will have the opportunity to visit, accompanied by a guide, the various branches of the Bank of Italy and participate in workshops on economic topics. Public debates and meetings on financial literacy will take place in theatres, auditoriums and universities aimed at those who can benefit most: young people, women, migrants, small and medium-sized enterprises and low-income people. During the events there will also be space for the voices of the many institutions and organizations with which the central bank also dialogues and collaborates in Europe and in forums such as the G7, the G20, the World Bank. There are 10 thematic itineraries: the functions of the Bank of Italy, money management, financial knowledge for doing business, supervision of banks and customer protection, defense against economic-financial disinformationthe financial system, monetary policy and inflation, the payment system and instruments, economic research and analysis, the central bank’s contribution to the sustainability of the economy and finance and, finally, the supply of work of the Bank of Italy.

The first stop in Bari

In the opening stage of the initiative, in Bari, the governor of the Bank of Italy Ignazio Visco will meet the girls and boys of the schools, and then move to the Piccinni theater for an event open to citizens.
