The data on irregular immigration show a very substantial growth, from 24,000 in 2021 (from 1 January to 11 July) to 31,000 in 2022 to over 72,000 in 2023, in the same period. Taking responsibility is an arduous task, which often requires abandoning, sometimes explicitly contradicting the propaganda campaigns of when this responsibility belonged above all to others. Better to be consistent with the functions exercised by electoral mandate than to be consistent with the agitational exaltation of the past.
