Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, the new couple already promises emotions but also sparks. McLaren presented the new F1 2023, it’s called MCL60, the acronym is a tribute to the 60 years of the team founded by Bruce McLaren. Called to redeem a disappointing 2022 with only one podium and fifth place in the constructors’ standings. The goal is to be the fourth force behind the Big 3: Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes. Ex-Ferrari team principal Andrea Stella was Fernando Alonso’s track engineer.

I’ve learned a lot since last year – says Norris -, on and off the track. With the release of Ricciardo and the arrival of the Australian freshman, Lando is a veteran in the Woking team and will have to face unprecedented internal competition: He will have more responsibilities, but I had already had them since the middle of last season, when it was known that I would be the only one left. It will be a pleasure to work with Oscar, he has achieved incredible results before F1. It won’t be easy to keep up with him from the start. Norris has a long contract with McLaren, until 2025, because I believe that in 2024-2025 we will finally be able to fight at the top of F1. You have to be patient, I don’t think we will fight for victories this year. We must think first of being continuous and solid.

The new McLaren MCL60 born under the technical guidance of James Key, Andrea Stella talks about her new role, she will have to deal with the management of the pilots: She will bring the experience of the champions with whom I have worked. In the short term we are realistic, then developments will arrive in the middle of the season which will allow us to be more competitive
