The great moment of political schools

It is a constant but not very visible wave, a magnet of interest that goes in the opposite direction to what, for a decade, has been a constant in public discourse, namely the anti-political drift that has brought political figures and forces into the field whose figure was above all populist, and whose success was linked to slogans praising a sort of “blissful incompetence” of the rulers, as if being competent made them easy prey for the so-called “powers that be” (another mantra). For a couple of years, however, as he tells us (after having participated as a teacher in seminars, lessons and workshops) Professor Sabino Cassese, judge emeritus of the Consulta, political schools seem to be increasingly successful and therefore more in demand “from below”, and not just those already known and linked to political personalities (such as Enrico Letta’s well-known School of Politics). It’s about schools where one learns to understand public affairs, where ways of governing it are analysed, where useful notions are studied in depth for those who want to apply for a position or work in institutions, even after graduating and having worked elsewhere.
