Italy will pay in Germany’s place the claims of the Italian victims of the Nazi massacres

Italy will compensate the victims of the Nazi massacre. The decision had already come with a decree from the Draghi government, but now the Meloni executive is ready to allocate the necessary funds: 61 million euros until 2026of which 20 million for 2023 and 13,655,467 for each of the years from 2024 to 2026.

The news was confirmed in view of the ruling of the Consulta on the rule through which the Italian country has made Germany unharmed and, at the same time, he has defined that he will pay all the reparations instead of the German state. In fact, on Tuesday 4 July, the question of the constitutionality of article 43, paragraph 3, of decree-law number 36 of 2022 will be debated before the judges of the Court. Fund for the compensation of damages suffered by the victims of war crimes and crimes against humanity for the infringement of the inviolable rights of the person committed in Italy by the forces of the Third Reich between 1 September 1939 and 8 May 1945. The measure was taken last year to prevent Germany from losing real estate in the context of an attachment set by the court of Rome in a case of compensation for victims of the Third Reich.

The resources will be allocated with a decree of the Ministry of the Economy, arranged together with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice and published in the Official Gazette of July 1st.
