John Ray has seen it all; as an expert in corporate restructuring he is used to managing crises of all kinds. In the early 2000s he was CEO of Enron, the energy giant that was at the center of a financial scandal, and of which Ray managed the bankruptcy phase. Despite this and forty years of experience in the field, he says he has never seen anything like this happen to Ftx, the cryptocurrency exchange site at the center of a case that risks having significant repercussions.
