The abstract claim of a "world without borders" does not honor the Turin pride

After the request of the organizers of the LGBTQIA+ fashion show, which will be held in Turin, controversy breaks out. Pride makes sense above all if it affects reality, with its libertarian charge applied to the real situation

The organizers of the Turin gay pride parade have published an announcement asking participants not to bring “nationalist or Atlanticist flags” to the streets. The reference is obviously to the war in Ukraine, which must not interfere with the pride which has “a pacifist position”. It is understandable that an event that has its own specific character does not want to turn into something else, the equidistance between attacked and aggressors, on the other hand, is not. Is there really no difference between Ukraine which intends to join the European Union where directives for the repression of homophobia are in force and the Russian Federation which, on the contrary, represses homosexuality? Even the linguistic choice that degrades national flags to nationalistic flags, and Atlantic ones to Atlanticist ones, is a symptom of a cosmopolitan conception which is naturally lawful but cannot be imposed on a movement for the dignity and freedom of homosexuals in which obviously people of the various cultural orientations.
