Sustainable mobility: contributions for columns have been strengthened

More than an opportunity, it is now a necessity. Among the increasingly evident climate changes and the Community guidelines on the subject of energy transitionthe takeoff of the sustainable mobility it can no longer be postponed. For this reason it was decided to strengthen the financial envelope for the electric charging stationswith 713 million euros coming from Pnrr.

How to get contributions

The two have been published in the Official Gazette decrees developed by Ministry of Environment and Energy Security which define the methods for awarding grants. Projects started after the date of submission of the grant application are eligible for the benefit.

The applicant must be in possession of all the authorisations, also from any owners of the land. As for interventions on the freeways, the expenses relating to the purchase and installation of recharging infrastructures with at least 175 kW of power are eligible, with a maximum specific cost of 81 thousand euros for each infrastructure. The costs for connection to the electricity grid are eligible (including those for design, construction management, safety and testing), up to a maximum of 40% of the total price envisaged for the supply and installation of the recharging infrastructure.

While, as far as the urban centresare eligible for the benefit the purchase and installation of charging stations from at least 90 kW of power, the expenses for the installation of the columns, the electrical systems, the strictly necessary building works, as well as the systems and devices for monitoring. In this case the maximum cost for each column cannot exceed 50 thousand euros and also in this case the State intervenes up to 40% of the expenses.

The beneficiaries

The application can be submitted by individual companies or temporary networks of companies which, at the time of submitting the application, demonstrate that they have managed recharging infrastructures operating in the Community territory, in an amount equal to at least 5% of the number of recharging infrastructures per which they want to apply. These benefits cannot be combined with other state incentives for the construction of the same columns.

European constraints

The Italia Bilanci report indicates that in 2022 the share of full electric car in Italy it fell to 3.75 of the total against 4.6% in 2021, while the hybrid models, from 29 to 34%. Now we need to change pace, given that the European Union has established a ban on the sale of internal combustion cars starting from 2035, with the aim of significantly reducing emissions from the automotive sector. A milestone that is far from coming for the automotive supply chain, which is now called upon to rethink its business model.
