The Milan Stock Exchange opened with little variation with the Ftse-Mib index just above parity (+0.04% to 27,578 points). After the rally of the past few days, the immediate reaction of the markets to the death of Silvio Berlusconi, today 14 June the shares of the Mediaset holding company (Mfe A -0.4% and Mfe B -0.3%) retrace.

On the day of his disappearance, 12 June, in fact, the shares of Mfe, the Dutch-registered holding company listed on the Stock Exchange which controls the Mediaset television group, had closed by gaining 5.86% in category A to 0.5 euro and reducing the distance from the category B share (+2.32% to 0.70), to which 10 voting rights were assigned on the day of Silvio Berlusconi’s death.

The market therefore had bet on the hypothesis that the company could be sold by the heirs even if the flames of the morning had then subsided on the finale. The same speculations had not concerned Mondadori, nor the subsidiary Mediolanum.
