Sgarbi on the attack on the San Siro stadium: “I will defend Milan from the attacks of the mayor Sala. And I will nominate a new superintendent”

San Siro and the Arengario, stop everyone. Vittorio Sgarbi he is unleashed as always: the Undersecretary for Culture – speaking in streaming at the “North Direction” event at Palazzo delle Stelline – talks about everything and promises interventions on everything.

Talk about San Siro, and the project for the new stadium. “I have in mind to defend Milan from attacks such as those of the mayor who believes, it is not clear in the name of what principle, that the Meazza must be torn down: I cannot understand. And so I called for respect for the law and asked the officials to identify a constraint”, says Sgarbi, who in recent weeks had already argued with the mayor Beppe Sala, referring to an architectural constraint that does not actually exist. “To think that two team presidents, one Chinese and one American, want to destroying San Siro seems to me something unacceptable – he concludes -. That monument will remain”.

But not only. The undersecretary also attacks another city project: “Connecting the Arengario to the Museo del Novecento through a flying footbridge I don’t know who thought of it”, he says, referring to the transparent footbridge twenty meters high that will join the two buildings. And he adds: “I’m waiting to indicate a new superintendent of Milan who responds to principles of respect for the rules that I do not impose but which are written”.
