Schlein’s election could become an opportunity for Renzi and Calenda

The prairie doesn’t exist but the opportunity to create an alternative to the Democratic Party now exists. Gori’s warning and the choice of a shock action with which to impose a more radical novelty are opportunities for the Third Pole, but without haste

Carlo Calenda commented on the election of Elly Schlein as secretary of the Democratic Party, stating that his grouping is now “representing the reformists”, while Pd and 5 stars would be “on radical populist positions”. It is a simplified reading which however indicates a real trend which requires time and political work to be realised. In the meantime, we will have to see if and how the new secretary will change some cornerstones of the current position of the Democratic Partyfrom the attitude on the war in Ukraine to the role of business and the market in job creation.
