A lot on differentiated autonomy, as if it were the key to attempting a comeback in the Southern and Islands constituencies at the next European Championships. And then a lot Pnrr, which may have become the perceived element of difficulty in Giorgia Meloni’s government; a lot of environment and a lot of work, above all after the pact on the minimum wage has recomposed for half a second that very wide field, which stopped at the door of the party of Matthew Renzi, who said no. Little or nothing, however, at least for now, on immigration.

The militant summer menu of the Democratic Party is about to be served. Time twenty-four hours and in Ventotene, right in the place where Paolo Virzi diagnosed in a film (August holidays, the sequel is also coming soon, also filmed on the island) the not too obscure evil of the left of the Nineties which succumbed under the blows of Berlusconi, the Democratic Party will put the stages of its great seasonal work announced by the secretary Elly on black and white Schlein in the direction of almost two weeks ago. The journey started the day before yesterday from Pigneto district of the Capital, a stronghold whose historic red has gradually faded in recent years, will conclude as per tradition at the end of summer at the National Unity Dayscheduled at Ravenna. THE spin shots in the heads of the leaders of the Democratic Party they seem to have that mixture of ambition and creativity which usually leads straight to a dilemma: in theory everything is very nice but, in concrete terms, this «militant summer» will it be a success capable of reducing the gap in the polls from the Brothers of Italy and increasing the advantage gained over the Five Star Movement, in view of the European elections which will determine who will have more thread to weave in Politics?

The next step a Ventotene will be in Sicily, where Schlein will land next Friday. Two scheduled appointments, in the morning in Enna (theme: differentiated autonomy), in the afternoon in Palermo (topics: differentiated autonomy and Pnrr). Then, while waiting to file his personal calendar of participation in the Unity Festivals organized in the area, ways and forms will be sought to put into circulation as many proposals as possible destined to become the autumn-winter collection of the Democratic Party.

The concern has always been the same, since the end of the congress: how to take those spaces away from the majority political agenda that Giorgia Meloni and company cannibalize even when they are in trouble (see Santanché). And with one fixed thought: if the militant summer of the Democratic Party is successful, it will only be understood at the end, when the national day of unity in Ravenna will return the party to the benches of Parliament. Which after all, this is an element of normality, that of normal people: the assessment of a season can only be done when it’s over.
