The discussion inevitably starts from the bill on the minimum wage, presented in Parliament by the opposition, on which the secretaries of CGIL and UIL have opened, unlike the CISL. “Okay, but it must be accompanied by a law on trade union representation – says Landini – and then the government must invest the resources for the renewal of contracts”. Schlein takes notes and then attacks Meloni: «Increasing inequality is a precise and conscious strategy». Then she warns: “I am satisfied with the union of the opposition, but it will be a success when the minimum wage becomes law”. The same reasoning as Conte: «We must commit ourselves to carrying out the law in Parliament, despite the closure of the government – he explains – their attitude is worrying, as if they did not see the problem. They are creating the conditions for a social fire ». Bombardieri makes a prediction: “It will be a demanding autumn, one of mobilisation, we will not make concessions to the government”. The others nod, the political and union opposition continues the battle.
