Salvini donates blood and posts the photo with the doctors: the irony for the middle finger of one of the doctors

The obligatory premise is that the gesture could have been totally involuntary, and without any irreverent purpose and not even motivated by a political criticism. But so be it. the gesture is so clear that it was difficult not to notice. And at that point, for Twitter users, it was impossible not to let loose in teasing and irony.

The facts: Matteo Salvini has been a blood donor for years, a commitment he carries out by always campaigning for donations and to support Avis. A choice that, always advertised with the call of photographers and cameras, has also attracted several criticisms. Specious, in this sense: because donating blood is an act of solidarity and civic commitment and letting it be known can hopefully generate a positive emulation effect.

Two days ago, the leader of the League went to Avis in Milan for the 88th donation made in the course of his life and posted some photos on his social channels: in addition to the now classic one in which he is on the chair during the collection, also one of the group, everyone has a mask, in which there are two other donors – a woman and a boy – seated and behind them, in addition to Salvini himself, several people, some in white coats, there is a girl with a veil on the head, a boy with a black T-shirt and, first from the left, a young doctor with an open white coat, a stethoscope around his neck and his hands clasped in a relaxed pose. But his left hand makes an unequivocal gesture, that of the middle finger pointing downwards.

“Start the day with a blood donation to AVIS Milano (we have reached 88) in the company of many boys and girls, helping someone in need, is good for the soul and health. Long live all the Donors and all the Volunteers!”, writes Salvini. But on Twitter – between insults for the media coverage of the donation and the usual no vax – the attention shifts to the finger: because many enlarge the photo, circle the gesture in red of the young man in a white coat and make him their hero. “Myth”, “bro”, “Long live the volunteers, but everyone?”. So far the author of the gesture – it must be said – has not come forward to specify the randomness. And therefore the doubt remains. But Salvini, despite the comments, did not remove the photo.
