Salvini’s step to the side

The leader has entered the heart of the negotiations with Meloni by relaunching himself but not necessarily to occupy the Viminale box: he wants to be in the government and adds that he can evaluate a “high profile” role that is not the Ministry of the Interior. His staff, in fact, points out that everything is postponed to negotiations with the allies, that there is no unilateral disarmament and that the party continues to ask the Interior Ministry for the secretary. It is no coincidence that yesterday in a well-known Northern League sources seem to relaunch the aims of the secretary in the chair of the Minister of the Interior: “There are no vetoes of any kind on Matteo Salvini – reads the statement – whose excellent work at the time of the Interior Ministry is not in discussion”.

The Infrastructure idea

However Salvini intends to open the negotiations on a clear basis: he wants the ally to explain the no to his indication for the Interior Ministry and, alternatively, he is ready to focus on Infrastructures, a ministry on which the Coast Guard depends, therefore a useful tool to continue its action against the illegal landings of migrants. “We will meet soon with Berlusconi and Salvini,” says Meloni, who would prefer agriculture for the Northern League. A meeting in Rome on Wednesday 12 October is not to be excluded.
