There are eight Ukrainian furniture companies at the Salone del Mobile 2023: seven are gathered in a single stand in pavilion 24 (Donna Furniture, Instech, Mebus Manufacture, Noom, Panoptikum, Tivoli, Woo), one is in pavilion 22 (Mirt Furniture Interiors). These brands did not pay to be present at the Rho Fiera Milano event, and were helped by their ministry for international fairs, in collaboration with the Ukrainian embassy in Italy.

Aleksandr Bosenko, chief architect of the llab.design brand born last year in April, the result of the encounter between a design studio and a company specializing in the traditional processing of marble, recounts the Ukrainian participation in the Salone. between Bosenko’s own Aiix Studio and Vadim Livshyts, the third generation at the helm of the Ukrainian stone-working family business Instech.

«We are very proud to be together with the other companies on this stand. We have had visitors from all over the world: the public is appreciating all our products. As for llab.design, the brand’s headquarters are in Kiev and the production is all in Ukraine. The parent company has 70 employees. We are working, even if it is a difficult moment: it is our way of helping the families of our employees and those who have been called to the front. It is the only possibility to make people sure of having a future, of having hope”.

Customers from America and Europe

The brand, explains Bosenko together with Livshyts, was born two months after the start of the war, also as a way to do something, to help their fellow citizens: «We show the world our design, the quality of our products. We have had orders from the USA, Switzerland and Belgium. We work with Ukrainian designers but we are also open to other collaborations». he tells.
