Negotiations are underway at an advanced stage between Safilo – an Italian group with over 900 million in revenues and active in the field of production and distribution of eyeglasses, sunglasses and sports eyewear – and Thelios, a company operating in the eyewear sector and belonging to the Group lvmh, regarding the possible sale of the plant in Longarone (Belluno) owned by Safilo. This was reported in a note from the Veneto group, which specifies how the eventual operation would make it possible to preserve the know-how of the site and to absorb a substantial part of the personnel involved in the same. Furthermore, this important transaction is part of a broader context of ongoing negotiations, through which the Company intends to limit the social impact as much as possible. Any possible operation will be conducted with the full involvement of the social partners and institutions.

Just three days ago, Safilo — listed on Euronext Milan and owner of brands such as Carrera — had also announced its intention not to continue the licensing agreement for the design, production and distribution of Jimmy Choo eyewear collections , which will reach its natural expiry on 31 December 2023.
