The director of Rai News 24, Paul Petreccaended up under the cross attack of the editorial committee (Cdr, the trade union representative body of journalists) of Rai News and the Movimento 5 Stelle.

The CDR maintains that «in recent days a colleague has decided to withdraw the signature on the piece For rainews.it relating to the “La Russa Junior case” and the controversies linked to the comments of Minister Roccella and Filippo Facci».

According to the CDR, the journalist would have asked to remove the signature becauseand his article would have been “distorted”: Petrecca is accused of having made changes “which consisted in removing the references to the controversies” who followed the reporter’s article Free and the words of the minister. An “unacceptable position”, say the editorial board of Rai News, for which a justification was requested. According to what was reported by the CDR, Petrecca would have preferred to write to his colleague, without replying to the committee, “showing, once again, his contempt for union rules”.

To the director of Rai News 24, the editorial committee he also criticizes the “absolute imbalance” of the guests in various programs: «the sensational case of the press review on Saturday evening during which the conductor himself expressly took a position on the clash between the government and the judiciary».

On the case of the signature removed from the article on Leonardo La Russa and in particular on the case of the press review, even the exponents of the Movimento 5 Stelle in the Rai supervisory commission asked to the director Petrecca to “clarify”. «Last Saturday a journalist made this statement during a live broadcast on the all news channel of the public service: “It was enough for the Keeper of the Seals Nordio to announce the cornerstones of the reform that two new events broke out: that of Delmastro and that of Santanchè”. An allusion to the fact that the judiciary would have opened those investigations to give a message to the government?»they ask themselves from the M5S.

There trade union member Usigrai-Fnsi Pluralism and freedomin a note, has dissociated itself from what is called an “instrumental attack” of the M5S which «reprises an equally instrumental attack by the CDR of Rai News 24. It is only the latest in a long series of interventions by the union – the note continues – which in fact responds more to the logic of political opposition than to trade union claims”.
