The first half of the last century was indelibly marked by the tragedy of the two world wars, culminating in the mass extermination of the Holocaust. The commitment of successive generations to ensure that nothing like this could happen again has been and is still a pillar of European construction. For this reason, in Italy and internationally, it was decided to make January 27, the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp, Memorial Day.
