“The words have been said. But now it matters more to be there, being there is worth a thousand words. We are against anti-Semitism and also against anti-Zionism for the life and existence of Israel.” The president of the Senate Ignatius LaRussa is today at the ‘Run for Men’ event in Milan, a non-competitive sports race organized for the sixth time by the Union of Italian Jewish Communities with the start in front of the Shoah Memorial, amidst the celebrations of Remembrance Day.

La Russa wore the ‘bib’ of the initiative on her jacket, a white T-shirt with the words ‘Run for Mem’, and she also took part in the start of the marathon, running a few meters with Noemi Di Segni, president of the Union of Italian Jewish communities and with Walker Meghnagi, president of the Jewish community of Milan. The race has a total distance of 12 kilometres.

“I’m here with my friends from the Milanese Jewish community. And being here is already a message in itself. Is it a choice? No, because when you have to choose it means you have two chances, instead in this case there is little to choose You have to testify enough,” added La Russa.
